When I grow up.....
This morning Carter told blurted out "When I grow up, Mommy, I want to be a Pastor!". Be still my heart! That was one of the sweetest things that could come from him. Not because that is what I want him to be, but because it is from HIS heart and it shows me he has a heart for God. He's always been very aware of God, creation, and heaven. We have a lot of talks and there is nothing like the innocence of a child of God. No one is without blemish or sin, but there is something about a true childlike faith that I think just warms the Lord's heart.
Our little Carter in 2006
I don't know what God's plan for Carter is, but I just pray that he will follow Him all the days of his life.....even Carter realizes how much he is loved by God and how special he is!
I try to be the best wife I can be to my wonderful husband, Tim, and the best mom I can be to my two wonderful (and sometimes challenging) kids, Carter & Emilie. God has blessed me beyond anything I could have ever imagined!
This blog is dedicated to sharing the quotes and stories of my children and the things they do to make me laugh on a daily basis!
Emilie is now two years old and in the throws of toddlerhood. She is my second born, my mischievous one, and my girl that can stand up for herself. She is the most loving and adoring toddler.....most of the time! She enjoys pretending and she has quite the imagination. She can sit and play with her dollhouse for large chunks of time. She loves to play with her brother, although that is not always appreciated. In return, she sometimes "affectionately" is rough with Carter and can easily stand on her own two feet. She is not passive as he is, and she will find a way to strike back! She was only twelve months when her rebellion began, and she would blow me kisses and wave at me when she was doing something naughty. I love our mornings together when Carter is in school. I had better cherish them now, because she is growing up right before my eyes and she just started nursery school! I am so blessed to have a daughter!
Carter is now four years old. He is my firstborn, my little genius, my son after my own heart (well, okay....my interests). Fortunately, or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it, Carter has developed a love for music and the arts. This he completely gets from me (Tim had never been exposed to so many musicals until he met me!). On any given day, he can be found tap dancing, singing, acting goofy, or pretending to be on stage. His favorite movie in the entire universe is Chitty Chitty Bang Bang- which he started watching before he even turned two (it is over two hours long!). I believe this "obsession" with this movie and other musicals is, in part, hereditary. You see, I grew up around theatre. My grandfather founded a playhouse and I was a part of it, in some way, starting at age five, until I left home to get married at 22. Because of this, Carter has had this passion passed on to him, and I can only hope that it will blossom into an incredible talent as he grows. For now, it brings me joy watching him pretend and entertain me! I am so blessed to have a son!
